This paper summarizes the features of Wen Tingshi’s poetry and strikes the key point with his two verses. The former part mainly discusses late Qing dynasty and the poet’s value orientation, which presents how he became a poet by nature. The later part demonstrates the epic value of Yunge poetry and its sensitive consciousness. The poems have a massive sense of history with the miserable adherents of consciousness. The paper also presents its breakthrough and innovation of traditional poetry. The writer of this paper tries to introduce it to readers by combining human and era, human and poetry. Due to the length limit for comments, some important ideas are pointed out without further illustration, which will be a great help to the future study of Wen Tingshi’s poetry.
