The Secret Garden presents the theme “Unity of Man and Nature”.Harsh environment hinders human＇s development in health, appearance and individuality, while pleasant natural environment arouses people＇s vitality.The Secret Garden displays the close relationship and high consistency between man and nature, which comes from western people＇s long exploration and deep reflection of the relation between man and nature, coinciding with the ancient Chinese philosophy, and reflecting human cultural similarities. 〈br〉 There are mainly seven means of artistic expression applied in this book to show the theme：1 .the personification of the nature and the naturalization of the human;2.the echoes of characterization and living conditions; 3.displaying the development of protagonist＇s personality;4.the monotony and uniqueness of the protagonist＇s personality;5.the application of contrast and comparison;6.symbolism;7.romanticism.
