价值修辞学视角下的对外报道编译稿修辞权威的构建策略

摘要 目前,我国对外报道编译稿普遍面临可信度低这一问题,要有效解决,最为关键的是要建立编译者的修辞权威,使其能够运用"言语权力"赢得读者的信任。而要建立编译者的修辞权威,就一定要在对外报道中体现正确的价值观,使编译者给人以"好的修辞者"的印象。价值观的体现离不开价值修辞学的指导,特别是Richard Weaver提出的修辞者的两种责任,即论辩方式的选择以及对读者特殊性的考虑,可以帮助编译者体现正确的价值观,从而有效构建自己的修辞权威,提高可信度。 Based on Richard Weaver’s rhetoric theories on values, we try to solve the problem of low credibility in China’s C-E translating and editing in international communication. We firmly believe that to improve his credibility, the translator and editor must construct his own rhetoric authority so as to effectively use language power to influence his readers. In the duration of rhetoric authority construction, it is essential for the translator and editor to embody correct values, which is an effective means to impress the readers as“an honest rhetori-cian”. Richard Weaver suggested that an honest rhetorician must assume two responsibilities: the vision of how matter will go ideally and ethically and the consideration of the special circumstances of his auditors. Based on these two responsibilities, we will discuss the detailed strategies to construct rhetoric authority by selecting proper argument sources and taking into account readers’special circumstances so as to help the translator and editor successfully construct his rhetoric authority.
