The Study on Big Business Technology Lock-in Effect and Economic Convergence

大企业利用资金、技术、组织与市场优势扩大规模与经营范围产生规模效应,利用大量产品与企业网络实现技术传播与扩散推动整个国家经济发展。文章以2002-2013年中国500强企业为样本,采用动态面板数据和系统广义矩方法研究大企业规模对地区经济增长的影响。研究结果表明,中国500强企业规模与地区经济增长具有显著的负效应,当选择较为发达的经济省份进行回归时发现这种负效应作用更加明显。分析认为大企业通过技术创新和溢出实现地区经济收敛,同时由于组织惯性与技术垄断导致技术锁定而产生"大企业陷阱",对地区经济增长产生负效应。

In this paper, the author takes the top 500 business in China from 2002-2013 as a sample to study big business influences on the regional economic growth with dynamic penal data and system-GMM. The results show that the big business scale is negative to regional economic growth and the negative influence is stronger when using high income provinces as a sample. The negative effect leads the economic convergence and it results from the big business innovation and spill over. At the same time, the organizational inertia and technical monopoly leads to technology lock-in and produce＆quot;big business trap＆quot;.
