On the Contribution of Hong Kong's Left-wing Film Group between the 1960s and 1970s

20世纪六七十年代,由于内地"文革"的影响和香港本土化意识的觉醒等原因,香港左派电影出现了前所未有的颓势。在这种氛围中,香港左派电影族群怀着爱国热情和对电影的挚爱,依然在延续人文脉流、保持写实传统、完善类型等方面做出了较大的美学贡献,并极力维系着曾经辉煌的左派文化;同时,尽管处于颓势之中,却仍在演艺人才培养、院线业的开拓及内地纪录片的发行等方面做出了产业贡献。

In the 1960s and 1970s, left-wing films in Hong Kong suffered unprecedented decline due to impact of the ＂Cultural Revolution＂ in China's Mainland and the emergence of nativism in Hong Kong. De- spite the unfavorable climate, the left-wing film group, with their strong sense of patriotism and a passion for film, managed to perpetuate the humanistic and realist art, further diversified the film type and helped to pre- serve the rich legacy of the leftist tradition. The group also contributed to the film industry in its efforts to culti- rate performing talents, expand cinema lines, and issue documentaries from China's Mainland.
