On the Participation of Alumni and Improvement of the Administrative Structure of Modern Universities

现代大学治理是一个需要多方参与的过程。校友出自大学,与大学有着渊源关系,是大学的利益相关者,在大学治理中具有特别重要的意义。在中国高校中,校友参与大学治理还存在着吸纳校友参与意识淡薄、与校友情感关系管理薄弱等诸多问题。当下,现代大学治理已开始起步,高校需要从多个方面努力,引导、支持校友参与以完善现代大学治理结构,促进大学健康持续发展。

The administration of modern universities is a process that involves the participation of many parties. Alumni, graduating from and deeply linked to their Alma Mater, are significant in the university administration. Many problems of alumni participation in the university administration may be seen in Chinese universities, for example, the awareness to encourage alumni participation is weak and the management of the emotion relationship with the alumni is weak too. At present, the administration of modern universities has got started. Universities need to try hard in many aspects to guide and support the alumni participation in the improvement of the administrative structure and to promote a healthy and sustainable development for universities.
