Zhang Xianliang has suffered a long period of “hunger”,which made him create a lot of special images about the “hunger”.The connotation of this kind of image,which is expressed in The Green Tree, consists of the“hunger”fate of life,the hardship of survival,the lack of dignity,the detachment from the soul, and the remodeling of the spirit.The hunger image,created by Zhang Xianliang,not only enables people to feel the characteristics of that era,but also lets people realize the importance of today＆#39;s socio-economic develop-ment.
