The Meaning of Urban Morphology in the Urban Design

本文在简要回顾并反思我国城市形态学、城市规划和城市设计发展状况的基础上,提出物质空间形态设计作为城市设计核心内容的观点。作者从知识关联和互动机制两个方面初步讨论了城市形态学在城市设计中的地位和作用,并展望了两者在新型城镇化背景下的发展前景。

This paper examines the process and statement of Chinese urban morphology, urban planning and urban design. Based on this, the author proposes the viewpoint that physical formal design is the key content of urban design at the core, and discusses the position and meaning of urban morphology in urban design from respects of knowledge presupposition and integrative mechanism. The paper prospects for the development of urban morphology and urban design in the era of Chinese urbanization at last.
