On Creation,Dissemination and Influences of the RPA Hmong Writing System in Overseas

摘要 20世纪50年代初,法国传教士恩宝羊等人在老挝琅勃拉邦省创制了"RPA苗文"。这套文字创制以后,在海内外苗区得以迅速传播,成为推行面最为广泛的苗族文字,具有极其重要的地位和影响。对"RPA苗文"的创制、传播以及这套文字在海外苗族中的影响略作初步考察,以期为我国新创的民族文字特别是苗文的推行,以及民族语文政策的更好贯彻执行,提供一定的参考与借鉴。 In the 1950s Father Yves Bertrais created Hmong RPA-（ nomanized Popular Alphabet） in Luang Pra- bang in Laos, which thereafter was spread quickly in international Hmong communities and soon became the most in- fluential among the overseas Hmong writing systems. This paper discusses the creation, dissemination and the influ- ences of the RPA Hmong writing system, with an attempt to provide reference for better dissemination and implemen- tation of the newly created Hmong scripts in China.
