从文化及语言功能角度分析海外译者中医英译佳句

Analysis of English Text Written by Foreigners about TCM from Angle of Culture and Linguistics

人类发展离不开各民族文化的交流与相互学习,世界医学发展也不例外。在中国医学对西方的翻译传播中,需要充分把握好英语语言方面良好水准,同时也需要译者客观、正确地传达中国医学文化和科技信息。该文借助于一篇海外人士译写中医的网络文献,以若干句子为例,从文化与语言功能的角度对译写文本中的一些句子进行分析,主要观察研究译写中的成功之处,发现该文充分实现了在语言方面与文化方面的正面引导功能。作者指出,海外人士在译写中医方面,在客观对待中国医学文化与医学科学技术方面,值得赞赏;同时,译写作品的语言纯正优美,值得我们研究学习。

Cultural communication works as an important accelerator in the development of human community and medical culture has no exception. In the interpretation of TCM to the Western world, perfect English is necessary in order to achieve readability. Furthermore, an objective attitude towards TCM culture and its scientific information is more important in introducing TCM to the Western world. Both of the two aspects should be well integrated in undertaking TCM translation in order to exhibit the true nature of TCM. By careful study of some sentences in an English text in a webpage, written by two foreigners, the author suggests that the above mentioned linguistic and cultural functions are well realized in the text, which acts as a good example in TCM translation.
