Pasargadae and Persepolis are two capital sites of the ancient Achaemenid Dynasty located in present-day Iran. These two World Cultural Heritage sites witnessed the rise and fall of the ancient Persian Empire who ruled vast territories ranging over the European, Asian and African continents.
