Discussion on Grading of the Special Collections of Ancient Chinese Books

古籍特藏藏品包括汉文古籍及特藏藏品和少数民族文字古籍及特藏藏品两大部分。其中,汉文古籍特藏藏品包括人们习见的普通形制的古籍以及简帛古籍、敦煌遗书、佛教古籍、碑帖拓本、古地图等六部分。这六部分各有自身的特点,难以在层级等次上找出统一的标准。有鉴于此,汉文古籍特藏藏品定级将六部分各自制定等级标准,从而使每个标准都能更加贴切、具体地反映该部分的自身特质。纵观《汉文古籍特藏藏品定级》(草案)的全部条款,一个极为鲜明的特点是"有时限",在"有时限"的前提下,又表现出"不唯时限"的理念,因学术价值高低而上靠或下调,此外还有在艺术方面表现出来的代表意义。

The special collections of ancient books include ancient Chinese books and correspondent special collections, and ancient books in Chinese minority script and correspondent special collections. The special col- lections of ancient Chinese books embrace six parts, that is, the commonly-seen ancient books in ordinary shape, ancient books in bamboo slip and silk, Dunhuang Manuscripts, Buddhism ancient books, calligraphy rubbings from stone inscriptions and ancient maps. These six parts are so distinct from one another that it is dif- ficult to set a unified standard for grading. On that account, the grading of the special collections of ancient Chinese books sets different grading standard for each part, so as to make sure that each standard is more ap- propriate for reflecting the trait of its own part. All the clauses in Grading of the Special Collections of Ancient Chinese Books： The First Part Ancient Books have such a quite distinctive feature as ＂time-limited＂ ; on the basis of which, all the clauses express the concept of ＂time-limited is not the only feature＂, and can be adjusted up or down due to the high or low academic value of collections. What＇ s more, all the clauses are also artistically typical.
