于震寰生平考略

A Survey of Zunvair Yue's Life Activities

于震寰早年在国立北京美术专门学校图书馆、国立北平图书馆、国立北京大学图书馆、国立中央图书馆等处服务多年,后长期工作于美国汉和图书馆,直至1973年退休。在国内期间,他历任中华图书馆协会总事务所书记、执行委员会常任书记、事务所常务干事等职,长期负责处理协会的日常事务。工作之余,他或翻译或著述,介绍国外图书馆事业和图书馆学研究,研究中国图书馆史和印刷史、目录索引、图书分编等,颇有建树。

In his early years, Zunvair Yue worked successively in National Beijing Fine Art School Library, National Peiping Library, National Peking University Library and National Central Library. Later on, he served in the Harvard-Yenching Library for many years, and retired there in 1973. When at home, he served for the Chinese Library Association for years and was responsible for the daily affairs of, successively as the secretary of its head office, the standing secretary of its executive committee and the standing secretary of its head office. After work, he achieved much in foreign library science and library research by means of translating, compiling and writing. What he studied ranged from China＇s library history and printing history, catalogue and index. 55 refs.
