Cultivation of Professional Genre Competence for Business English Students

指出商务英语专业培养的最核心能力应该是跨文化商务情景中基于体裁的商务英语话语能力,结合商务英语专业的特殊性,从商务英语教学的现状剖析学生商务专业体裁能力薄弱的原因,针对原因,提出提升商务英语专业学生的专业体裁能力的策略。

This paper points out that the core competence for Business English students to develop is the genre-based discursive com petence. Concerning the particularity of Business English as a major, it further probes into the problems existing in current Business English teaching practice, which may have been hindering students＆#39; development in their genre competence. Finally it proposes some tentative strategies in a view to better cultivate students＆#39; genre-based discursive competence and generally enhance their intercultural professional communicative competence.
