The living environment, present situation and development trend of domestic and international metallurgy engineering design were analyzed in the paper. The main problems and restricted factors in domestic metallurgy engineering design were indicated. The measures and method of improving metallurgy engineering design ability in domestic metallurgy engineering companies were put forward. This paper had important reference value for improving independent innovation ability.
