摘要《弗洛斯河上的磨坊》是乔治·艾略特前期作品中最著名的小说之一。它继承了英国女性哥特小说的传统,蕴含了大量女性哥特小说的元素,集中体现在女性形象的矛盾性及其双重作用、女性与父权制度的矛盾关系和小说文本的矛盾性这三个方面。在女性哥特这一新的视角下考察这部小说,有助于读者深入理解乔治·艾略特女性意识的矛盾性。 The Mill on the Floss is one of the most famous novels of George Eliot. It inherited the tradition of Britishwomen gothic novel and contains a large number of female gothic novel elements and embodied in three aspects. Thefirst aspect is the contradiction female image and their dual function. The second aspect is the contradiction betweenwomen and the patriarchal system and the last aspect is the contradiction between the novel text. It offers a new re-search perspective to help readers deeply understand the contradictory feminist consciousness of George Eliot.
