This paper expounds the ontology-based thought from aspects of ontology’s connotation, ontology’s function, and ontology’s construction, etc., and introduces in detail the construction of digital library’s ontology-based knowledge service mode in order to help the users to find the knowledge what they need in mass information of digital library.
