Differentiation Syndrome and Treatment of Phlegm and Blood Stasis on Brain Diseases

脑为元神之府,虽独居身之高巔,但与脏腑联系密切。若脏腑病,津停血滞,易使痰瘀内生,影响脑之功能,导致多种脑病的发生。常见脑病如眩晕、头痛、中风、痴呆等皆可因于痰瘀为害,临床上仔细辨别痰、瘀及痰瘀的存在,根据不同证型予以不同治法。

The brain is the house of primordial spirit, which is located at the top of human body and has a strong connection with Zang - fu organs. The occurrence of many brain diseases is due to the abnormal condi- tion of Zang - fu organs, marked by body fluids retention and blood stagnation, the generation of phlegm and blood stasis. Therefore, it is very important to differentiate carefully the existence of phlegm, blood stasis and binding of them in clinical diagnosis and treatment. The common brain diseases like vertigo, headache, stroke and dementia result from phlegm and blood stasis and they should be treated according to different syndromes.
