Diagnosis and treatment of thyroglossal duct carcinoma

甲状舌管癌（thyroglossal duct carcinoma，TDCa）是发生于甲状舌管残余或甲状舌管囊肿内的一种罕见疾病。在甲状舌管囊肿中，TDCa的发病率约为1％。

Thyroglossal duct carcinoma is a very rare malignancy,which occurs in approximately 1% of all thyroglossal duct cysts.The majority is well differentiated papillary carcinomas.The preoperative examination such as CT or fine needle aspiration cytology can help the preoperative diagnosis.The sistrunk procedure is still an appropriate surgical treatment for the thyroglossal duct carcinoma.If the thyroid gland is found to be normal on physical examination and imaging,the main question is whether to perform a subsequent total thyroidectomy.The long-term follow-up is necessary for all the patients.
