摘要
英语否定倒装结构有着不同于其他倒装结构的特点,因而,作为一种部分倒装结构,否定倒装结构在语篇层面表现出其特有的功能,即小句突显功能、主位突显与调核突显融合功能和固有对比功能。这些功能共同体现了否定倒装结构存在的价值。
Negative inversion has its own characteristics and functions different from other inversions. As a kind of partial inversion, negative inversion performs the special textual functions such as clausal prominence, thematic -nucleus prominence and inherent contrast. These functions work together to show the value of negative inversion.
