The protagonist Ahab of Herman Melville’s masterpiece Moby-Dick is a ungodly,skeptical in fate,great but morbid captain of the whaling ship Pequod.His obsessive quest for the white whale Moby Dick leads the ship and its men to destruction.From the perspective of fate,this article analyzes how Ahab refuses a series of sympathies,controls and plans his own fate.
