非英语专业研究生英语能力提升的探讨——以广东外语外贸大学为例 被引量:3

摘要 非英语专业研究生英语教学长期以来停留在对本科阶段大学英语教学的重复,教学效果不够理想。本文结合二语习得理论以及我国基础阶段英语教学的实施情况,提出了研究生英语教学应以从根本上提升学生的学习兴趣,培养英语学习的习惯,以达到长期保持并提升学生英语应用能力的目的,并在此基础上逐步实现以学术英语(EAP)和专业英语(ESP)为教学为目的的教学模式,实现以英语为工具,扩大研究生的专业视野,提升其学术能力。教学改革方案的成功实施需要行政部门、教师、学生的共同努力,是一项充满挑战的事业。 The curriculum of English for non-English major graduates has not shown great breakthrough from the practice during the undergraduate period, which means failing to achieve expected effects. Based on second language acquisition theories by Noam Chomsky and Stephen Krashen, and English teaching practice in China, this paper proposes that the basic principle is to help students develop the habit of English learning and improve their English proficiency and motivation. After that, EAP and ESP should be made to become gradually an objective for graduate students in order to broaden their horizon, and enhance their academic ability. The successful implementation of any teaching reform requires the cooperation of adminis-tration, teachers and students, which is a challenging task.
