The Significance of Bethune Spirit in the Construction of Medical Professionalism

医学职业精神包括植根于哲学的中国传统医学精神,产生于古希腊的希波克拉底誓言及世界医学会《日内瓦宣言》,产生于战时的共产主义白求恩精神以及产生于灾难时期的大爱无疆的人本人文精神,它们均有着共同的价值观:崇敬生命、忠诚患者、敬业精神、奉献博爱四个层面。社会主义市场经济发展,社会主义精神文明建设以及医学职业精神、医德医风建设更需要白求恩精神。

Medical professionalism includes traditional Chinese medicine spirit rooted in philosophy, the Hippocratic oath originated from ancient Greece and the World Medical Association ＂Geneva Declaration＂, communism Bethune spirit produced in wartime and humanistic spirit produced in the disaster period. All of them have common values： reverence for life, loyalty to patients, professional ethics and dedication. With the development of socialist market economy, Bethune spirit was needed in the construction of socialist cultural and ethical progress and medical professionalism as well as medical ethics.
