Love,as a reflection of human nature,has always been one important focus of literature. In both the Western and Oriental cultures,people consider sex dirty and disgusting due to the influence of traditional education and religion. In their mind,sex means nothing except a tool for reproduction. Lawrence and Jia Pingwa challenged the traditional bias against sexual love and showed people its naturality,purity and honesty through their description of relations between love and marriage,two sexes and love and politics. Though these two writers had quite different ideas about marriage,life and values,their ideals and attitudes towards love showed no difference. For them,love was a weapon helping them dig into the depth of the society. Both of them pursued harmonious sexual relationship between body and soul.
