摘要
Religious people have participated in social service for a long time,and the spreading of the theory of "Engaged Buddhism"provides Charity work with much legitimacy among religious people. This paper uses three Buddhist NPO s as cases: "Classics Reading Class","H ui Ji Temple Charity ",and "H ome of Friends of Buddhism",tries to find what are the supporting theory of the three NPO s,howdo they motivate charity funds and volunteers,their activities,and their relationship with government. We find,the three NPO s use "Engaged Buddhism"as their leading theory,and they use charity and philanthropy to stimulate participants to serve people and society,combining belief with practice. Besides,in current circumstance,we also notice that the NPO s showthe characters of making a comprise with government and secular society.
