Objective: To determine the association between ADAM33 and psoriasis in the northeastern Han population. Methods:Three common single nucleotide polymorphisms ( SNPs) ( rs2787094, rs512625 and rs597980) from ADAM33 were genotyped in 400 patients with psoriasis and 398 controls from the north-eastern Han population using a Multiplex SNaPSHOT method. SNPs genotypes and alleles frequencies were an-alyzed by SPSS 13.0. Rs2787094 CC genotype and C allele were compared between the patients and controls, as well as between patients with different clinical phenotypes of psoriasis. Results:The rs2787094CC CG gen-otypes (P〈0.05) and 2 haplotypes were associated with an increased risk of psoriasis (H3, H5; P〈0.05). The rs512625AA genotype and 3 haplotypes ( H1, H4, H7) were found to be a protective factor against psori-asis ( P〈0.05) . Rs2787094CC genotype and C allele were associated with patients both in the late onset group and/or in the sporadic group ( P〈0.05) . Conclusion:ADAM33 is associated with psoriasis in the northeast-ern Han population.
