摘要
本文首先探讨了全球化时代引发L2测评改革的主要动因:英语所有权之争、"本族语者"身份之谜与复合语言能力之说都促使L2教师和测评专家重新审视英语本族语者及其语言规范在L2教学和评估中的地位与价值、L2语言本质、非本族语者教师的作用等。其次,文章指出了新时期L2测评面临的种种挑战与困境,并对传统L2测评进行了反思。最后,文章对未来L2测评改革提出了一些建设性意见,并阐述了上述讨论对我国外语测评的启示。
This paper first discusses the main factors and motivations for reconceptualizing L2 assessment in an era of globalization.The debate on the ownership of English,the myth of “native speaker”identity and the hypothesis of multi-competence urge L2 teachers and testers to reexamine the position and value of native speakers and their language norms,the nature of L2 and the role of nonnative teachers in L2 teaching and testing.It then gives an analysis of the challenges facing L2 assessment,followed by some reflections on the traditional L2 assessment.The paper concludes with several suggestions for the reform of future L2 assessment and its implications for foreign language assessment in China.
