Register Conformity in Translation of Addressing Terms in Literary Texts

文学语篇中的称谓语有助于读者理顺人物关系,了解人物个性和解读情节发展,而称谓语的意义离不开语域限定,分析源语语域参数以确定语义是准确翻译称谓语的前提。译文需要在语旨、语场和语式3个层面忠实源语语域特征,从而实现原称谓语的交际功能和修辞功能。

The addressing terms in literary texts facilitate readers to better understand the characters＇ personalities and their relationships which are important for plot construction. No meaning of an addressing term can be determined out of its register. Study of the register characteristics of the original addressing terms is the first step for their proper translation. The translator should spare no effort to make sure the target text is in conformity with the original one in terms of tenor, field and mode so that it can fulfill its communicative function and rhetorical function.
