On the Inscription on the Bronze Fengbo Fu and Other Problems

河南三门峡市虢国墓地M2006出土了两件制作精美的青铜器单叔盨与丰伯簠。单叔盨是单叔为其女儿孟姞嫁到虢国所做的媵器。丰伯可能来自姞姓丰国,丰伯簠极有可能是丰伯为媵单国之长女孟姞所作之器。这两件器物反映了西周时期的媵婚制度。

Two bronze wares of Shan Shu Xu and Feng Bo Fu unearthed from M2006 of Guo state cemetery Sanmenxia Henan province. The Shan Shu Xu was made by Shan Shu for his daughter Meng Ji marred into Guo state as the dowry that was Ying ware. Feng Bo may be Ji family Feng state, the Feng Bo Fu probably was made by Feng Bo for Meng Ji the first daughter of the king of Shan state as the dowry that was the Ying ware too. These two bronze wares reflected the marriage system of the Western Zhou period.
