The spirit of Albert Einstein＇s thought about education is freedom and its core is to cultivate a harmoniously developed person who sees the service of the community as the highest life concerns.Einstein was a partial layman in the realm of pedagogy and his thought was based on his personal experience and personal conviction.This essay argues that his thought has important significance for the education in China though it is not sys tematic,putting forward that the importance of freedom and the significance of harmonious development should be drawn more attention.
