在关于俄国农村公社问题的一系列文章中,马克思着重研究和回答俄国是否一定要走一条西方资本主义道路而消灭农村公社的问题;而恩格斯则着重研究和回答俄国农村公社是否像民粹派分子所简单认为的那样可以直接以农村公社为起点过渡到高级形式的社会主义社会的问题。显然,他们各自对以上两个问题的回答都是否定的。马克思恩格斯针对以上不同问题作出的不同方向的回答,不构成二人在俄国社会问题上存在对立的依据。相反,他们在俄国村社及其命运问题上的基本原则和基本观点是一致的。

In the series article on the issue of the Russian Ejido, Marx mainly researched and answered the question whether the Russia should choose the same path as the Western Europe by destroying the village commune or not, whereas, Engels mainly focused on the problem whether, as the populists simple maintained, the Russian Ejido could establish socialism on the basis of the Ejido or not.Apparently, both Marx and Engels did not think that way.The attitudes and the answers on these problems by Marx and Engels could not prove that they have different views about the Russian Ejido.On the contrary, their basic principles and attitudes are the same.
