A lot of neologism have sprung up like bambooes after a spring rain every day under the new circumstances of network. These neologisms are full of vitality, highlight the reality of social life and represent hope for the future. College students are at the forefront of the times. They are the first to contact and use new words and expressions. This paper explores the characteristics of these neologism and how to accurately understand and translate them, and finally proposes some strategies for applying them into daily college English teaching.
