语言是文化大系统下的子系统及其中的一个载体,是人类文化的重要体现方式。西安城墙从建立伊始至今已逾千年,尽管载体的功能已发生了根本性变化,但诸多城门名称所蕴含的中国人几千年传统文化的精髓,却丝毫没有改变,它依旧体现着华夏民族对人与自然、人与社会以及人与人之间最根本的认识。
