张谷若翻译特色探究——以《苔丝》为例

On Zhang Guruo's Translation Characteristics-A Case Study of Tess

张谷若是我国现代著名的翻译家,他翻译的作品以其忠实原作、译语地道而广受赞誉。他在翻译《苔丝》等英国著名作家哈代的作品时采用了四字格、方言对译和直译加注释等策略,其译本受到读者的普遍喜爱和学者们的好评。本文拟以《苔丝》为例,从张谷若的翻译原则和策略等角度进行分析,来探究张谷若的翻译特色之所在。

Zhang Guruo is one of the most famous translators in China. He holds that translators should be faithful both to original authors and target readers. In Tess and other masterpieces of Thomas Hardy, a famous English writer, he mainly uses the strategies of adopting four-character phrases, dialect-for-dialect translation and translating with annotations. His version is mostly loved by readers and deeply appreciated by many scholars. This thesis attempts to analyze how Zhang Guruo uses his translation strategies in Tess and find Zhang＇s translation characteristics .
