摘要
以Brown和Levinson提出的面子理论为基础,联系笔者从事大学英语教学的作文批语实例,探究英语作文批语对学生的面子维护情况以及批语对学生英语学习动力的影响。
Based on the face theory proposed by Brown and Levinson, this paper relates some cases of remarks on college students' English' writings given by their college English teachers and then probes in- to the question whether these remarks maintain students' face and the influences of these remarks to college students' motivation of learning English.
