With the rapid development of intercultural communication, film, known as a mass medium and a conveyer of ideology, is playing an important role in the intercultural communication. Film Archives, with their abundant stock of films, have taken many active practices in various ways to promote intercultural communication. This paper explores the relationship between film and intercultural communication. With a review of the FIAF Annual Report 2013, it also discusses the positive practices taken by film archives and the challenges they are facing.
