Formative class evaluation is an effective method for teacher to improve teaching through monitoring student per-formance in the class ,modifying student learning by the evaluation criteria during the learning process .It also makes teachers reflect their teaching efficiencies in order to update teaching plans and procedures .This article introduces theory of formative class evaluation ,and discusses its contribution to the college English teaching with detail measurements and actions .
