In view of the complex and rapid changes of web resources, how to effectively collect and organize the high quality online theme resources becomes a future developing direction for the web information service of library. Througyh a comparative analysis of the construction and maintenance of some important theme resource guidance websites both at home and abroad, the paper gives some suggestions for improvement of such websites in China, and discusses the feasibility that such websites become the thematic knowledge gateways, which will open a new chapter for the information service of library.
