Haruki Murakami is a famous Japanese novelist and his representative work is NorwegianWood arousing sensation immediately after its publication making it a hot seller home and abroad. Thispaper tries to make a comparative study between Norwegian Wood, The Great Gatsby and Der Zauberbergfrom the perspective of the theory of narratology, and approach the origin of Haruki Murakami＇ s writingmode and proves that Haruki Murakami＇ s Norwegian Wood is modeled after The Great Gatsby and DerZauberberg.
