《全黔国故颂》是黎庶昌收录编撰的一部贵州从汉到清历史名人的专题资料集,共收录了贵州从汉到清的历史名人一百三十五人。编撰的时间,应是在黎庶昌光绪十一年回家丁忧和第二次使日期间。在收录上,本着表彰名贤,为国史张本,力求贵州有更多的贤人志士入国史的原则,厚今薄古,"故持例稍严"。对在历史上能震古烁今的人物,更是不遗余力追求事无巨细,囊括殆尽。

Eulogy to the Past Scholars in Guizhou is a special collection of 135 historical celebrities inGuizhou from the Han to the Qing Dynasties, compiled supposedly during his stay at home for filialmourning in 11 th year of Guangxu and when during his second return. The principles of his collectingwwere honoring the celebrities, enriching the content of country＇ history and putting more Guizhou celeb-rities into country＇ history. Laying more stress on the present than on the past the choice of examples is alittle strict. But for splendid historical figures the collection neglected nothing and covered up everything.
