摘要 近年来,界内学者对大学英语四、六级(CET)考试提出了各种批评意见和重新定位的改革建议。去年,教育部宣布暂时不取消CET考试,CET考委会则将原单句汉译英改为段落汉译英。本文采用Bachman&Palmer最新的"测评使用论证"(AUA)理论,结合国际上其他大规模英语考试的成功范例,论证CET考试存在是否合理,寻找当前问题的根源,分析各种批评和建议的是非曲直。文章认为大学英语课程设置全国统考有其合理性和优越性,但前提是必须重新设计考试系列,引导与规范考试使用,并大幅增加考试资源投入。 Recent years have seen much criticism on College English Test(CET) and reorientation advice for its re- form in the college English teaching and testing circle. Last year, the Ministry of Education declared that CET would not be cancelled for the time being, paragraph translation was added to the test. Using the latest "Assessment Use Argument" (AUA) framework of Bachman and Palmer and successful examples of some large-scale tests of English as a foreign language, this paper tries to justify the use of the CET test, examine the origin of its current problems and judge the truthfulness of the criticism and advice it has received. Following the discussion, the paper concludes that using a national test for the college English course is justified. Three test reform measures are suggested to redesign the test battery, guide its test use, and increase substantially the allocation of test resources.
