Textual Study on Wang Mengzheng's Intention of Occupying Luzhou Salt Well in the First Year of Qianxing of Northern Song Dynasty

北宋仁宗朝王蒙正图占泸州盐井的公案究竟发生在哪年,"泸州盐井"是传统的大口盐井还是新兴的卓筒小井,是官井还是私井,与"资本主义萌芽"有无瓜葛?笔者认为,此事出现在乾兴元年(1022)下半年或稍晚,其后20年"蜀始创筒井",该盐井既非官井淯井,亦非当时脱颖而出的卓筒井,而是盐业小商品生产者世代所有的传统大口盐井。

For the case of Wang Mengzheng attempting to encroach on Luzhou Salt Well during the Renzong reign of Northern Song Dynasty, which year did it actually happen？ Was the well a traditional large-opening well or an emerging small-opening Zhuotong well （bamboo tube well）？ An official well or a private well？ Was it related to“the bud of capitalism”？ The study shows that the case occurred in the second half of 1022 （the year of Qianxing of Northern Song Dynasty） or later. Twenty years after that,“Zhuotong well was invented in Sichuan”. This well was neither official well, Yu Well, nor Zhuotong well, but a traditional large-opening salt well owned by salt producers from one generation to another.
