摘要
本文质疑汉语副词"都"是全称量词的说法。文章显示大家通常认为"都"具有的一些特点,例如最大值、穷尽性、排他性、分配性等,其实都是用"都"的充分条件,而不是其必要条件。只要说话者认为某一方面达到了相当程度,他就可以在他说的句子里加上"都"。
This article questions the assertion that the Chinese adverb dou is a universal quantifier.It shows that the properties commonly believed to be associated with it such as maximality,exhaustivity,exclusiveness,distributivity are sufficient conditions,but not necessary conditions on the use of dou.It may be used in a sentence whenever the speaker believes that a considerable degree of something has been attained.
