Emily Dickinson's poems are famous for their obscurity. This paper intends to explore her poem creation from the perspective of gender schema. For one thing, the highly feminine images in Dickinson's poems and her gender schema are interrelated; for another, her gender schema imposes great impact on her poetic expressions: she discards the titles of poems and endeavors to make her poems abstract and a process of thinking in order to cloak her scorching insights. In a word, Dickinson's riddle-like poems are her deep understating of the world and self as well as an indirect form of her antagonism.
