On the Culture of Social Control

从大体而言,社会控制是指通过社会权威的力量对社会成员进行调节、引导、约束,从而实现社会秩序的过程。社会控制虽然是控制手段与目的探讨,但任何社会控制都是依赖于社会控制背后的文化。社会控制的根本问题在于人们倡导或反对什么样的社会文化,这才是社会控制与社会秩序得以良性发展或有效维持的根本原因。

Generally, social control means the procession to social order, which is achieved by the adjustment, guidance and restriction on the members of the society through the power of social authority. Although social control is about the discussion of controlling means and purposes, any social control relies on the culture behind social control. The basic issue of social control is what kind of social culture that people advocate or oppose is the root cause of developing or maintaining social control and social order benignantly and effectively.
