贾平凹作品英译及其研究:现状与对策

An Overview of English Translations of Jia Pingwa's Works and Relevant Studies

本研究在概述贾平凹作品英译及相关研究的基础上指出,文化差异问题并不是地方作家作品英译最突出的难点。对贾平凹作品的英译及推广可从两方面着手:一是对文本(包括原作文本和翻译文本)本身从语言、叙事、译者角度等内部因素的对比分析;二是对文本之外关于赞助人、翻译模式、目标语读者阅读期待或译作接受度等外部因素的研究。这一点同样适用于中国现当代小说有地方特色作家作品的英译。

After an overview of the translations of Jia Pingwa＇s works and relevant studies,the author maintains that cultural difference is not the most prominent difficulty in translations of works written by writers of localism. The prbolem of promotion of English translations of Jia Pingwa＇s works can be approached from two perspectives： studies of text proper including original texts and translated texts from such perspectives as language,narration and translators etc. and studies of such extra-textual elements as patronage,translation mode and target language readers＇ expectation etc. This strategy can also be applied to translations of other writers＇ works with distinctive local characteristics.
