Mixed Methods Research in Strategic Management: Design Strategies and Skills

摘要 近二十年来混合方法研究在战略管理学领域中日益增长。混合方法作为第三次研究方法运动,将定性与定量研究方法相结合,能够帮助研究工作者对各种现象产生丰富的理论洞见,这是单独使用定性或定量方法难以企及的。基于相关文献和1980—2012年间发表在战略管理学报(SMJ)上的典型论文,从选取的典型MMR论文研究问题的确定、设计策略的选取、数据收集与分析、整合讨论等四个研究阶段和环节上展开剖析,总结了战略管理学研究中混合研究方法的设计策略及其应用技巧。 Mixed methods research is becoming an increasingly popular approach in strategic management during two decades. As the third methodological movement, the mixed methods combine qualitative with quantitative research approaches and can help develop rich insights phenomena of interest that cannot be fully understood only using qualitative or quantitative methods. Based on the related literature and typical articles published in the Strategic Management Journal from1980-2012, this paper analyses the selected typical MMR papers from four research stages and aspects such as research questions, design strategy selection, data collection and analysis and integrating discussion, and get some conclusions about design strategies and application skills of mixed research methods in strategic management.
