The purpose of this study is to explore the operative and workable approach towards effectively cultivating postgraduates in Chinese linguistics. The author believes that such steps can be taken as streamlining the curricula to broaden students’ academic visions and directions, consolidating the required courses to develop their academic capability, enhancing formative assessment to ensure the thesis quality, fostering their internship to upgrade their professional capacity in society, and making full use of disciplinary faculty efforts to actualize the training targets.
