In Flight to Canada, Reed reverses, criticizes and negates the historical facts and traditional texts by means of dramatic techniques, revealing the covered historical facts and expanding its meanings from the single and sealed-up condi- tions. The verbal humor and emotional joy in the dramatic expression of life experiences greatly demonstrate the fates of the fictional characters and refract the profoundness of social philosophy and the wonderfulness of the author' s observational power. The dramatic techniques of Reed are helpful to reveal the paradoxes, reconsider the past and revise the fallacies, totally destroying the fallacy that black works contain less or rare spiritual values, and comprehensively uplifting the artistic values of black literary works.
