Mandela＇s death has been bathed in media attention by the global press for his great achievement and everlasting spirit. His spirit can be summarized as the following six aspects： lofty ideal of fighting against Apartheid and seeking democracy, freedom and equality ; peace - making idea of advocating and practicing tolerance; principle of advocating Africa, world peace and upholding international justice ; political wisdom of being flexible in accordance with new political situations and retirement at the height of career; lofty sensibilities of being grateful and priority given to the social vulnerable group, glamour of being bold, equal, humorous and kind. These six aspects are closely connected and dialectically united. It is in South Africa that the spirit of Mandela was produced and this is contributed not only by his times and the social environment he was faced with, but also by the influence he received from the world and the support from international community. What＇ s more important, it fitted his lofty ideal and qualities. All in all, the external and internal causes for the birth of his spirit come together harmoniously and enhance each other. The spirit of Mandela is deeply rooted in South Africa, and it belongs to the whole Africa, the whole world and the human beings in general. The world today needs his spirit than ever before.
